As many of you know, Josh and I have moved to London, KY. Actually, we moved here in June. It has been an adjustment and so I haven't been blogging. But now that I am a stay-at-home mom I have a lot more time on my hands. So two days ago I decided there was no reason for me not to blog. So this is the first edition of Columbia's Corner, formerly known as the G-Force Connection.

Adjusting to being a stay-at-home has been a lot more difficult than I expected. Over the past several years I became accustomed to going 110% all the time and now my schedule feels empty. I do not enjoy many of the parts of being at home all the time--housework, laundry, etc. But this morning I came to the realization (through much prayer) that being a stay-at-home mom can/should be treated like a job.

When I worked, I had an ongoing to-do list and I felt productive when I was able to mark things off my list. So if I make a to-do list of my new "job" requirements perhaps the monotony will wear off and I can enjoy this new freedom.

That's the goal! We'll see what happens.

  1. I'm so glad you are blogging! It's great to hear from you, I hope you keep it up. I blog to break up the monotony of being a stay at home mom. I know it's an adjustment, but the benefits are wonderful! I hear you, to-do list help show that you actually did do something at the end of the day, because most days you have to re-do everything at least once if not 10 times!!
We miss you all and think about you often, so happy you are doing well. Did you hear that we are expecting baby #5 in May? Crazy, right?! We are excited.
